His honors include a special achievement award from the National Cancer Institute. He was named one of Washington's best physicians by Washingtonian magazine. He has been the director of the Greenebaum Cancer Center since 2004.

Dr. Tkaczuk is a medical oncologist and member of the multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Program at the UM Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center. She is in charge of the overall treatment planning for adjuvant and palliative systematic chemotherapy and hormonal therapy.
