Program Overview

Founded in 1968, the University of Maryland Medical Center's Division of Transplantation has established a national reputation for innovation and technical/surgical excellence. The teams of cardiothoracic and abdominal transplant surgeons perform more than 420 transplants each year, making UMMC home to one of the busiest transplant centers in the country.

The Division of Transplantation performs kidney, pancreas, simultaneous kidney-pancreas, liver, heart and lung transplants.

As part of the University of Maryland Medical Center, we utilize a multidisciplinary approach to patient care which utilizes the enormous talent and broad resources of an outstanding academic medical/research center.
