The division boasts a strong track record of success for fellow research projects as well as a high level of academic production overall. Our resources include 3 full time research coordinators, a well equipped biomechanics lab with full time biomechanics faculty dedicated to orthopedic trauma projects, a prospective trauma database, and an ongoing rich collaborative relationship with cutting-edge public health researchers within the Johns Hopkins School of Public Policy.

The division has produced 71 presentations during the last 5 OTA and AAOS meetings. We are involved in multiple prospective randomized trials which include our own trials as well as providing a leadership role in the newly formed DOD sponsored METRC trials. The division is proud to have dedicated faculty with over $3.5M of independent funding (DOD, OREF, industry and others) with significant experience in research and dedication to mentoring the next generation of orthopaedic academic traumatologists.
