Dr. Verceles joins the Department following his training in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. His clinical and research interests include therapeutic strategies and hemodynamic monitoring in the critically ill, and weaning from mechanical ventilation. In addition to attending in the Intensive Care Unit, Dr. Verceles also sees outpatients at the University's new comprehensive Dyspnea and Cough Clinic.
Dr. Verceles current research projects include the development of Computerized Decision Support Systems in the management of the critically ill. In addition, Dr. Verceles also has interests in investigating sleep physiology and architecture in patient populations with chronic respiratory failure, as well as weaning from mechanical ventilation.
