Dr. Slezak is a professor of surgery in the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery and Director of Breast Reconstruction at the University of Maryland Medical Center. After receiving her medical degree from Harvard University, Dr. Slezak completed her general surgery residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. Slezak also completed a fellowship in plastic surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her areas of expertise include breast implants, cancer reconstruction, breast reduction, and breast assymetries.

Rachel Bluebond-Langner, M.D.

Dr. Rachel Bluebond-Langner is an Assistant Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where she graduated at the top of her class. She has spent the last nine years training in plastic, maxillofacial, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, first as a resident in the combined Johns Hopkins/University of Maryland Plastic Surgery Residency Program, then as a fellow in craniofacial microsurgery in Mexico City. She has authored more than 35 articles in internationally recognized peer reviewed journals and five book chapters and has presented at numerous national meetings. Dr. Bluebond-Langner has an interest in microsurgery, breast reconstruction, transgender surgery, facial trauma and reconstruction, and cosmetic surgery including procedures of the face (rhinoplasty, face lift, neck lift, eye lift, cheek augmentation), the breast (augmentation and lifts) and the body (body contouring and liposuction) as well as minimally invasive procedures (such as Botox, injectable dermal fillers, and chemical peels).

Branko Bojovic, M.D.

Branko Bojovic, M.D.

Dr. Bojovic is an expert in adult and pediatric craniofacial surgery, and microsurgery for congenital, oncologic and traumatic conditions. Among his specialties are adult microsurgical reconstruction of the head and neck following oncologic surgery, post-traumatic injury, and treatment of pediatric syndromic and non-syndromic craniofacial disorders, such as craniosynostosis and cleft lip and palate. His research focuses on composite tissue allotransplantation and tissue engineering, as well as clinical outcomes following surgery for cleft lip and palate surgery and facial trauma.

Michael R. Christy, M.D., M.A.

Michael R. Christy, M.D.

Dr. Michael Christy's primary clinical interests include reconstructive microsurgery as well as aesthetic plastic surgery and hand surgery. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery (Plastic Surgery) at The University of Maryland, the Shock Trauma Center and the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He graduated from Boston University School of Medicine in 1997.

Dr. Christy trained in both general surgery and plastic surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital/ New York University Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery at the University of Southern California and the Southern California Orthopaedic Institute. He is Board Certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Christy plays a major role in physician training, and he is widely published, with more than 10 papers and three book chapters. In 2006, he won the Shock Trauma Hero Award and has lectured at national and international meetings for facial trauma and reconstruction. His current research interests include composite tissue allotransplantation for upper extremity and face, complex hand reconstruction, craniofacial trauma and reconstruction and microsurgery for lower extremity salvage.

His research focuses on composite tissue allotransplantation and tissue engineering, as well as clinical outcomes following surgery for cleft lip and palate surgery and facial trauma.

Dr. Dorafshar was also named by the University of Chicago Medical Center as a nominee for the Residents Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in basic and clinical sciences and has authored a number of book chapters in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Tripp Holton is an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia where he was the recipient of both the Mary P. Wiedeman Award for excellence in Physiology and the Doctor Herman Brown Award for excellence in Surgery. He then completed his General Surgery training at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Following his General Surgery training, Dr. Holton completed his Plastic Surgery training in the University of Maryland/Johns Hopkins combined training program. He is the author of numerous research studies in Plastic Surgery and practices general plastic surgery with several areas of expertise and interest. In particular, Dr. Holton specializes in the reconstruction of complex abdominal and chest wall deformities, general and microvascular breast reconstruction, and facial and body cosmetic surgeries. He joined our faculty in October 2010.

Ronald P. Silverman, M.D.

Ronald P. Silverman, M.D.

Dr. Silverman is an associate professor of surgery in the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He has experience in facial and nasal reconstruction, skin cancer resection, burn reconstruction, complex wound management, general reconstructive surgery, as well as facial and breast cosmetic surgery. He maintains a clinical and research interest in skin cancer resection and facial/nasal reconstruction and is currently involved in research projects focused on tissue engineering for reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Silverman is also a member of the Kernan Hospital Cleft Lip and Palate team. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he was awarded the Wayne W. Babock prize for outstanding performance in surgery, Dr. Silverman completed his plastic surgery residency at Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital, where he gained an extensive experience in both cosmetic as well as reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Silverman is an expert in minimally invasive cosmetic surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, and breast and body contouring.

Devinder Singh, M.D.

Devinder Singh, M.D.

Dr. Singh is an assistant professor of surgery in the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from Columbia University, and completed a combined general surgery and plastic surgery residency at Yale University.

Dr. Singh's special interests include facial cosmetic surgery, breast reconstruction including microsurgical techniques required for perforator flaps, breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lifting, liposuction, injectable cosmetic medicine, endoscopic carpal tunnel release, and body contouring after massive weight loss. His original scientific research on body contouring was presented at national meetings, and he was awarded the Yale Plastic Surgery Research Prize for developing a new approach to treat obstructive nasal air passages during rhinoplasty (nose surgery).
