Spinal Cord Injury Medicine ACGME Certified Fellowship

A one year ACGME accredited fellowship in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine is available at University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedics Institute, formally Kernan Hospital. This program provides the fellow with an intensive clinical experience in taking care of inpatients and outpatients with spinal cord injury and dysfunction.

While the major part of the program is located on the Spinal Cord Injury Service at University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedics Institute, formally Kernan Hospital, other rotations include longitudinal experience in the University of Maryland Multiple Sclerosis clinic, the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, and the Kennedy Krieger Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Individuals board eligible in any ACGME primary specialty such as PM&R, Neurology, Internal Medicine, or Orthopedics are eligible to apply for the fellowship. Physicians having completed the fellowship are eligible to sit for the added qualifications in spinal cord injury medicine subspecialty boards.
