Clinical Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Training Program

Mission Statement

To achieve excellence in the training of fourth year cardiology residents in the diagnosis and management of arrhythmia disorders and symptoms, including noninvasive and invasive diagnostic and therapeutic modalities, pacemaker implantation and follow-up, and ICD implantation and follow-up.

Program Objectives

To fully learn the indications, contradictions, risks, limitations, sensitivity, specificity, and predictive accuracy, and appropriate techniques for evaluating patients with a wide variety of rhythm disorders including:

  • Sinus node dysfunction

  • AV node dysfunction

  • Intraventricular conduction disorders

  • Atrial Flutter

  • Atrial Fibrillation

  • Other supraventricular arrhythmias

  • Ventricular arrhythmias

  • Unexplained syncope

  • Aborted sudden cardiac death

  • Neurocardiogenic syncope and related disorders

  • Long QT syndrome

  • Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

  • Postoperative arrhythmias

  • Management of arrhythmias in pediatric patients with Pacemakers

  • Implantable defibrillators

  • Non-invasive risk stratification

  • Outpatient evaluation and management
