To Arrange a Sub-Internship

We encourage interested 4th year medical students to take advantage of the opportunity to rotate as a sub-intern on either the Cardiac or Thoracic Surgical Services. This will be an evaluable opportunity to gain firsthand experience into the strengths of our training program.

  • For U.S. Medical Students:
    • Registration for a sub-internship is processed through VSAS. This site and other information about the application process can be accessed through the UMSOM website at:
    • Please note, it is extremely important to list your preference for a rotation in either cardiac or thoracic surgery via the sub-specialty option under Surgery.
  • For students at foreign medical schools, please contact Jaime Williams, whose contact information is provided below, for details and assistance in setting up a sub-internship.
