Christopher R. Harman
Christopher R. Harman, M.D. is Vice Chairman of the Department and Director of the Center for Advanced Fetal Care at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Harman is internationally known in the fields of fetal medicine, ultrasound assessment of the fetus and placenta, and invasive fetal procedures.
Ozhan Turan, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Ozhan Turan is the new director of Fetal Therapy, and an associate professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He received his fellowship training in Maternal and Fetal Medicine at University of Maryland Medical System as well as in Harris Birthright Centre in London.
Dr. Turan has extensive research in fetal monitoring and Doppler ultrasound, and has recently developed 3D and 2D ultrasound methods to predict preterm labor. He has advanced training and experience in fetal interventions and complex maternal surgery.
Shifa Turan, M.D.
Dr. Shifa Turan is director of the Fetal Heart Program, and is an assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She developed first trimester fetal echocardiography to detect congenital cardiac abnormalities using 4D ultrasound. This new technique allows for earlier detection and treatment of heart abnormalities.
