All fellows are expected to have suitable proficiency in general radiology to cover, along with the general faculty, checkout of the emergency department resident on assigned mornings and weekends. After hours, subspecialty fellows and faculty perform readouts in general radiology, emergency room, Shock Trauma, neuroradiology, pediatric imaging, and body imaging. Most fellows will spend 1 day per week in a general radiology setting, such as the outpatient offices. After obtaining suitable proficiency in the area of fellowship, each fellow is assigned additional subspecialty call duties along with the faculty.
Fellows in an ACGME-accredited program (angiography, neuroradiology, or nuclear medicine) will spend their entire fellowship periods in their chosen specialties.
