Medical School: Howard University College of Medicine
A little about myself. . .
I grew up mostly in Long Beach, CA. I decided I wanted to be a pediatrician when I was 15 when I went with my baby brother to a doctor's appointment. My love for children grew even more while I was in college and I worked for a community program for preschool aged children with ADHD. I was working mainly with underserved populations and realized I had a passion for it. I was drawn Howard University College of Medicine for medical school because of their dedication for serving the community. It was during medical school that I discovered emergency medicine. I had trouble choosing between emergency medicine and pediatrics. I was excited when I discovered there were combined programs. I cannot express how delighted I am to be at University of Maryland and to be apart of two great departments. I have not yet decided what I plan to do after residency, but I feel I would be comfortable in community or academic medicine.
