A little about myself. . .
I was born in Syracuse, NY about a year after my parents immigrated from Liberia. I am the middle child with two brothers. Upon graduating from high school, I left Syracuse and moved to Baltimore to attend Johns Hopkins University as I wanted to be closer to my older brother who was attending college in Washington, DC at the time. I majored in Public Health Studies with a concentration in Natural Sciences and minored in Spanish for the Professions. While in college I discovered my passion for community health. Following college graduation, I went on to complete a Master of Health Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. I then moved to Washington, DC to attend the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences where I participated in the Community Health Track Program.
I am super excited to be back in Baltimore for Pediatrics residency at the University of Maryland. It felt like home when I came for my interview day as everyone was very warm and welcoming. I am looking forward to spending the next three years caring for children in such a supportive environment. It is also wonderful to be close to my family and friends who live in this area.
I grew up singing around the house with my brothers. So outside of the hospital, I enjoy singing in my church choir with my older brother. I also love dancing, photography, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends, especially my adorable nephew.
