Medical School: University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry
A little about myself. . .
I grew up in Maryland in the county over (MoCo!!). I decided to leave for college, and I went to University of Rochester in upstate New York. I had never heard of it before I applied there, but it is actually a hidden gem, full of wonderful people, and it also happens to be the founding city of Wegmans! During my undergraduate years, I participated in a study abroad program in London doing medical research at St. Thomas’ Hospital. I traveled to Scotland and Italy, and really had the time of my life. I went back to Rochester for medical school, and loved every minute of it. I have always loved children, and I was heavily involved in the Rochester community providing school physicals for inner city children, being a big sib to kids with chronic illnesses, and volunteering as a tutor at a local middle school.
My family and my friendships are the most important things in the world to me. Dancing is a passion in my life, and I have done everything from ballet/tap to classical Indian dance to being captain of my Indian dance (Bhangra) team throughout college. I have been called a social butterfly many a time, and I love meeting new people! I am up for adventures, and I have an itch to travel and see the world. But I am also happy at home curling up with a good book or, yes, I admit it, a Bollywood movie! My culture is a huge part of who I am, and I feel lucky that I get to take the best from both my Indian and American cultures.
I am so excited about starting the next chapter of my life in Baltimore and about making new friends and forming lasting relationships with my patients. :)
