Christina Atkinson, M.D.
Medical School: Howard University College of Medicine
A little about myself. . .
I was born in Inglewood, California and am the oldest of three girls. Aside from college, spent most of my adult life in sunny southern California and lived no further than 2 miles from the Pacific Ocean. So it was quite the change when I moved to attend medical school in Washington, DC. However, something about the cherry blossoms and the autumn leaves (as well as meeting my now husband in medical school!) convinced me to stay in the area for residency.
Although DC is not too far from Baltimore, they are both very unique cities and I am excited at the chance to explore my new home. Outside of the hospital, I like: bargain shopping, trying fusion foods (Korean BBQ tacos?..yes please!), swimming, traveling, and watching everything from Drop Dead Diva to The Walking Dead. I am also in love with my two nieces and I will not hesitate to show you pictures of how adorable they are.
I am interested in primary care pediatrics, but have not decided completely. Mostly I am excited to be a part of the University of Maryland Pediatrics family!
