Jyes Querubin, M.D.
Medical School: University of Maryland School of Medicine
A little about myself. . .
I am originally from California, which is where a majority of my family still lives. I was born in San Francisco, but lived in the Los Angeles area practically all my life. I went to UCLA (go Bruins!!!) for undergrad with a degree in Neuroscience. While I loved the year-round 75 degree weather and being a hop skip and a jump away from the beach, Hollywood, and all things LA. . . I had an itch to go away for medical school and experience the East Coast (with its 4 seasons!).
I moved to Baltimore for medical school. I absolutely fell in love with this city! While Baltimore can get a bad rap, I truly believe it lives up to its name "Charm City." There never a dull weekend here with its yummy restaurants and many outdoor festivals! During my first year of medical school, I met my fiance who is a Baltimorean and works in finance. We welcomed our first son Liam in February. . . and trust me if you see me around, I will likely pull out my phone and show you pictures!
I had an amazing experience here at University of MD and have met some of the smartest and most interesting people in my classmates and the residents I have worked with. While I love Baltimore and UMM, I will be returning back home to LA to complete a pediatric neurology fellowship in two years.
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions about living in Baltimore, pediatric neurology, or the peds program here!
