Medical School: St. George's University
A little about myself. . .
My road to residency has covered more miles than I would have ever imagined. I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida and grew up with my older brother. After seventeen years of never having seen snowfall, I decided Ithaca, New York would be a fun change of pace and got my undergraduate degree from Cornell University. As much as I enjoyed the scenic gorges and wine trails, I was worn out by four years of intense winters and decided on the Caribbean for medical school. I enrolled in St. George's University, located in Grenada, West Indies. I spent two years on the island studying harder than ever before, but I still managed to have some fun. I learned how to SCUBA dive, danced to Soca music in Carnival, and tried exotic foods like callaloo and "oildown." The best part by far was meeting the love of my life during a Friday night Texas Hold 'Em poker game. After living on the island, we completed clinicals in Brooklyn, Jersey City, and South Florida and got married in Orlando one week after our graduation. We have been living in Baltimore for a year so far and we have really grown to love it. Some of the highlights include the O's games at Camden Yards, trying all the great seafood, and taking our puppy for walks through inner harbor and Federal Hill Park. I'm excited to be at my first choice program and looking forward to spending (at least) another three years here.
