A little about myself. . .
I was born in Idaho, but I spent the majority of my childhood living overseas in Southeast Asia and Africa. I graduated from high school in Nairobi, Kenya and returned to the Pacific Northwest (my home away from home) for my undergraduate degree at Reed College. I recently completed medical school in Israel. It was one of the most frustrating and wonderful experiences of my life. I was really fortunate to have shared my time there with my brother and sister-in-law who graduated from the same program a year ahead of me (we also rescued a "dumpster kitten," who is now leading a fat and happy life in the suburbs of Detroit). As you might have guessed, I enjoy traveling and I'm hoping to one day pursue a career in global health.
When I was a baby my parents moved to Baltimore and I began pre-kindergarten here. It seems as if my education has come full circle in Baltimore! I'm so excited to live by the water again, and have already purchased my season pass to the aquarium (I plan to use it as my tropical winter retreat).
Outside of work, a lot of my attention is focused on food. I love eating it, making it, reading about it, you name it. My current food obsessions are Sushi Yasuda and Gulluoglu baklava (I recently ate 1kg of baklava in less than a week (totally worth it!) after returning from a trip to Istanbul).
