A little about myself. . .
I grew up in Bowie, Maryland and chose to stay close to home for college and post-graduate training. After completing my bachelor's degree at Goucher College, I spent 9 years at the University of Maryland while obtaining my PhD in Medical Physiology and attending medical school. After medical school, I decided to take a break from clinical medicine to do cystic fibrosis research with the Pediatric Pulmonary Division at Johns Hopkins. When I decided to return to clinical medicine and start a pediatrics residency, I was delighted to be welcomed back to the University of Maryland. After spending so many years at the University of Maryland, it truly feels like home. In fact, it's hard to walk around the campus or the hospital without running into someone I know. I've also really enjoyed getting to know all of my new co-interns and am looking forward to doing more bonding while in the trenches. The people you work with make such a tremendous difference, and I am thrilled to be surrounded and supported by so many wonderful people.
When I'm not at work, I'm usually busy darting off to sports practices or dance classes with my son and daughter. My husband and I also enjoy taking the kids to the various Smithsonian museums in Washington, D.C. or just relaxing at home and cuddling up on the couch for a family movie night. On the rare occasion that I have a bit of free time, I love curling up with a good book. I'm always happy to answer any questions, so please don't hesitate to contact me.
