For residents interested in a pediatrics subspecialty that is not included in the Primary Care or Hospital Based Practice Pathways.

Electives
At least 4/7 must be "core pediatrics" electives; others can be "non-core"

Rigorous month in senior year
Specialty-specific requirements depending on the subspecialty the resident enters Nutrition Elective as an IU either as a 1-month block or as part of a 3 month longitudinal block
One ICU month (either on general ICU team or on cardiac team), in a “junior fellow” role
At least one additional month in the subspecialty they are entering, either as an away elective or as an elective here, with a specific focus (may be a PGY2)
Specialty-specific requirements depending on the subspecialty the resident enters
 
Research: at least 1 month longitudinally either as part of this 3-month block or as a longitudinal research track
   
Community practice experience (individualized based on career goals) either as a track experience or as a 1-month block in 2nd or 3rd year

Development of a QI project with faculty members (and other residents and/or fellows) in the subspecialty division that aligns with the residents’ career goals (during a Professional Development block or during a longitudinal block experience as part of an IU)
Option to add a 1-month Teaching Elective as an IU as part of a longitudinal block and act as adjunctive teaching member to rounding teams  Systems error project 
EBM journal club presentations during pathway, with a focus on translational, basic science, and clinical research articles
Topic-based formal lecture presentations, possibly during quarterly pathway conference
Business of medicine project
