A little about myself. . .
My name is Jock Moore, yes a nickname, but if you see it on paper it's probably listed as Joel Moore, Jr. I'm originally from the tiny but awesome town of "Little" Washington, NC located on the beautiful Pamlico River. I went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for undergrad, double-majoring in Chemistry & Biology. After playing football, baseball, and wrestling through high-school (Google "nominative determinism"), I walked-on the UNC Football team and played Center and later Fullback on the scout team from 2004-2007. The blood, sweat and tears during those years made me a Tarheel for life.
After undergrad, I worked at East Carolina University for about 2 years not far from my hometown doing regenerative medicine research within the Dept. of Cardiovascular Sciences. I then returned to my alma mater for medical school. I chose Med-Peds because of the awesome faculty I met while at UNC, the joy of treating patients of all ages, and my love of clinical variety. At Maryland, I'm looking forward to going to O's games at Camden Yards, experiencing Ravens-mania, restaurant hopping, eating Maryland crabs, hunting around the Chesapeake bay, playing with my dog Zora, and making tons of new friends (the residents here are pretty awesome).
