A little about myself. . .
Hi! My name is Cal, which is short for Caleb. I was born and raised in Chevy Chase, a suburb of Maryland just outside of Washington, DC. Interestingly, my parents picked my name around the time former Baltimore Orioles' great Cal Ripken Jr. was named MVP of the American League. I spent my entire life in Maryland, except for 4 years of college at Davidson in North Carolina, where I studied Psychology and Chemistry. I went to the University of Maryland for Medical School, and I am thrilled to be staying here for residency.
I am a huge sports fan, and I spend a lot of my spare time playing or following sports, particularly the O's, Caps, and Michigan Wolverines. Unfortunately, I am also a die-hard Redskins fan, so I am often made fun of by my Ravens-loving colleagues. I also enjoy playing basketball and golf, reading any fiction book, spending time with my family, watching NCIS with my girlfriend Lilly, and eating (though my cooking skills are sub-par at best).
One day, I hope to practice both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in an academic environment that allows me to teach students and residents as well as serve children and adults in a variety of hospital and outpatient settings.
