Class of 2017
Bianca LoVerde, DO
Bianca was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed pediatric residency in Toledo, Ohio, where she was awarded First Place for the Pediatric Senior Resident Research Project for investigation of the use of Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist (NAVA) in Neonates. She is interested in nutrition and palliative care.
Sruthi Polavarapu, MD
Sruthi was born in Nashville, Tennessee and attended medical school at Medical University of the Americas. After medical school, Sruthi was a postdoctoral fellow at Vanderbilt University where she pursued research interests involving neonatal intestinal immune regulation and necrotizing enterocolitis. She then completed pediatric residency at Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin where she was also appointed chief resident.
Olayemi Ola, MD
Yemmy was born in Ilesha, Nigeria. She studied at American University of Antigua, College of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency program at UMDNJ (Camden Campus) Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ. Her research interest is neurodevelopment outcomes in the NICU graduate.

Christine Capriolo, DO
Crissy grew up in Eldersburg, Maryland. She completed medical school at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and pediatric residency at Cohen Children's Medical Center in New York. Her primary research interest is pulmonary hypertension.
Abigail Aghion, MD
Abby is a Baltimore native. She completed medical school and pediatric residency at the University of Maryland. Her primary research interest is neonatal sedation and pain management.

Abhinav Parikh, MD
Abhinav graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a B.S. in Biochemistry and M.S. in Applied Molecular Biology and then went on to pursue his medical education at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. Upon graduating from medical school, he did his residency in pediatric medicine at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York where he was a chief resident and was awarded first place in poster presentation of a Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Project. He is interested in quality improvement and use of ultrasound in NICU.
Nina Shah, MD
Nina was born in New Jersey. She attended medical school at American University of Antigua College of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in New Jersey. Her clinical research interests include neonatal nutrition and growth.
Michael Kochan, MD
Michael grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He attended Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and then completed his pediatric residency in Virginia at the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters. He spent one year working as a Neonatal Hospitalist before starting fellowship. His research interests include the use of ultrasound in the NICU, palliative care, and NIRS.
