Cancer Screening Events
The Baltimore City Cancer Program at UniversityCare aims to prevent cancer deaths through detection, diagnosis and treatment. We offer free breast, cervical and oral cancer screenings to the uninsured in Baltimore City.
As of June 2015, we've performed 32,354 free screenings thanks to Cigarette Restitution Fund monies. These screenings have identified 95 patients with cancer. The specific cancer screening totals are:
• 3,036 oral cancer screenings
• 4,571 cervical cancer screenings
• 7,155 clinical breast exams
• 7,761 mammograms

The UniversityCare Family Health Centers, located throughout West Baltimore, are offering free breast and cervical cancer screenings as part of the Baltimore City Cancer Program, an early-detection effort for uninsured, low-income city residents.

The UniversityCare Family Health Centers, which are located throughout West Baltimore, are a part of University of Maryland Medicine and a participant in the Baltimore City Cancer Program. UniversityCare provides high-quality medical services for the entire family. Over the years, UniversityCare has established strong relationships with a number of community organizations such as schools, churches and local businesses. UniversityCare offers a variety of helpful services to these groups, including cancer and other health screenings, fairs and lectures, and partners with neighborhood schools to provide honor roll breakfasts and parent-teacher workshops.
