Clinical Scholars must have recently completed postgraduate training in medical, radiation, surgical, or gynecologic oncology or oncology nursing and must be ready for a first faculty appointment.

Basic Science Scholars will have a Ph.D. or Pharm. D., must have completed at least two years of post-doctoral experience, and must be ready to develop a clinically oriented, although laboratory focused, research program. Both Clinical and Basic Science Scholars will use the support from their award to participate in a training program to allow maturation of their knowledge base in clinical research. This will entail a didactic component leading to the Master of Science in Clinical Research, followed by development and conduct of a clinical project that could serve as a basis for future research and/or funding opportunities.
