Letter from the Program Director
Thank you for your interest in the University of Maryland Hematology/Oncology
fellowship training program. This website will provide you with information
about our educational philosophy, the program structure, the curriculum and
the application process.
We offer on a yearly basis five three-year fellowship positions for training
in the fields of Hematology and Medical Oncology. The program is a joint activity
of the University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center (UMGCC) and the Division of Hematology/Medical
Oncology of the Department of Medicine. Intensive clinical training is provided
at the University of Maryland Medical Center and the Baltimore Veterans Administration
Medical Center, both located on the University of Maryland, Baltimore campus.
Fellows also participate in clinical or basic science research in one of the
many research labs on campus.

We are excited about the spectacular advances taking place in the fields of
Hematology and Medical Oncology and are looking for fellows who share that excitement.
We are committed to providing outstanding clinical training and opportunities
for fellows to develop into independent investigators, both in the scientific
