Timeline for Identification of and Credentialing Process for Residents and Fellows

Program identifies candidates it intends to hire as well as residents/fellows that will be continuing.

Program Liaisons provide Brad Lansinger, Manager in Medical Staff Services with a list containing the names, date of birth, the program they are joining, and email addresses of all new incoming residents and fellows. The resident/fellow will receive an email from service@mdapp.com with a subject line of “md-app”.  This will contain a link for the new electronic credentialing application.  Medical Staff Services will NO LONGER accept paper applications.

 

Incoming residents and fellows will receive an email with the subject line “MD-App: Begin Application for {Provider.Name}”. They will have 24 hours to click the link and set up their MD App login information. They will have until April 10, 2017 to complete the electronic credentialing application.

 

March 31, 2017

Program Liaison submits information about the new candidates AND the returning residents/fellows on the UMMC Resident/Fellow Data File (Excel) to Maureen Hyson at mhyson@umm.edu

 

April 10, 2017

Deadline for the residents/fellows to complete the electronic credentialing application.  Compliance reports will be sent bi-weekly from Allison Andrus, Director, Medical Staff Services.

 

April 17, 2017

Program Liaison provides new incoming residents/fellows the following link to access Employee Health forms located on the GME Website: http://umm.edu/professionals/gme/prospective/credentialing-process

 

April 21, 2017

RETURNING RESIDENTS

Program Liaison submits:

1)       Unlicensed Medical Practitioner Registration(UMP) OR a copy of the Maryland independent license for each resident/fellow

2)       Copy of Fingerprinting Receipt

3)       Signed copy of the resident/fellow contract.

 

UMP/License, Fingerprinting Receipt and Contract forwarded to:                                                                                                    

Serena Roach, Office of Graduate Medical Education                                    

110 S. Paca Street, Room 08-N-155

 

*If all 3 documents are not received at the same time it will be returned to the Program Liaison (i.e. contract received in GME without UMP and fingerprinting receipt)

 

May 1, 2017

Program Liaison completes the Term File spreadsheet to identify any resident or fellow who should be removed from UMMC payroll and the effective date that they are to be removed from UMMC payroll and returns to Maureen Hyson in GME at mhyson@umm.edu

 

May 8, 2017

NEW RESIDENTS

Program Liaison submits:

Any resident changes MUST be forwarded to Maureen Hyson in GME via email: mhyson@umm.edu  (e.g.  additional hires, residents deciding to leave, etc.).

 






Benefits and Parking Application Requirements

Parking

Residents and fellows are designated to park at the Pratt Garage, which is opened 24 hours per day and 7 days a week. Please inform new and current residents that they need to complete and submit to you their application each June.  This application process is available online on the University of Maryland Baltimore Parking and Commuter Services website. Please use the instructions for accessing the website.

Please follow the instructions and go to the log-in prompt at the University of Maryland, Baltimore Parking and Commuter Services website. Approval of parking privileges for residents and fellows may be completed online or by visiting the Parking and Commuter Services office.

Residents and fellows who are leaving the program must surrender their parking pass and hang tags prior to departure to the Program Liaison.  Exit vouchers are available through the parking office at UMB to help with this transition.  Please contact the House Staff Billing or Web Support Contact to request Exit Vouchers.  Those passes that are not surrendered when the resident or fellow leaves the program will continue to be billed to the department.

Medical Center Resident and Fellow Benefits

To ensure residents and fellows receive full Medical Center benefits, appropriate paper work must be completed and returned to Department of Human Resources at 110 South Paca Street, First Floor,unless otherwise instructed (e.g.,

Please review the Summary of Resident's Benefits. Please remind residents and fellows of the policy for Making Health Plan Changes Outside of Open Enrollment.

Residents requesting to take medical or Family Medical Leave must complete the Leave of Absence Packet. For those request Family Medical Leave, please review the Family Medical Leave Fact Sheet. Both forms require Medical Centerintranet access. In addition to completing the forms, residents must contact the Human Resources Department at the address/number below. In some cases, the resident and fellow may also be required to notify Hartford Life, the disability carrier for the Medical Center.
