The 2014 University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center Golf Tournament raised more than $300,000 to benefit the Greenebaum Cancer Center.
“This event and the continuous support from the community and the board have helped us to provide the highest quality cancer care to our patients,” said Kevin Cullen, MD, director of the Greenebaum Cancer Center. “Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and donors, the funds raised will directly benefit the center’s research and clinical programs.”
During the evening, former patients shared personal stories of living with cancer and their experiences at the Greenebaum Cancer Center, thanking those who have cared for them while receiving treatment.
Sponsors of the event, which took place Oct. 20 at Caves Valley Golf Club, include: Chesapeake Contracting Group, Veola, Gray & Son, Greenebaum Enterprises, BOPAT Electric, Mechanical Engineering & Construction Corporation, the University of Maryland Department of Radiation Oncology and TEK Systems.
The event welcomed 150 guests, and was hosted by the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center Board of Advisors, in partnership with the University of Maryland Medical System Foundation.
