Your Health: Women and Heart Disease

Overview

Cardiovascular disease is the #1 killer of women in the U.S., but symptoms in women may be different than in men and not as easy to recognize. For example, a woman having a heart attack may experience nausea, fatigue or back and neck pain – not the crushing chest pain commonly associated with heart attacks in men. Dr. Myung Park, a University of Maryland cardiologist, discusses what women should know about heart disease and what they can do to help reduce their risk of developing it.
