Fox 45 Report Haiti Mission of Hope 3 of 3
In part three of WBFF-TV FOX 45's cover story "Haiti: Mission of Hope," Jennifer Gilbert and Darren Durlach continue their report on the University of Maryland Medical Center's ongoing relief efforts to help the Haitian people recover from the devastating earthquake that shook the country in January 2010. The Medical Center's ongoing mission is a partnership with Catholic Relief Services, the Institute of Human Virology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and St. Francois de Sales Hospital in Haiti.
This portion of the report highlights the thousands of people left homeless as a result of the earthquake and the relief efforts being made to help them return to a normal way of life as quickly as possible. Worries about the upcoming rainy season are also discussed as the floods and mudslides that occur during this time of the year could likely destroy the tent cities currently in place to provide the only means of shelter for residents that have no place else to go.
