Procedimiento, parte 1

  1. Cuando se presenta una convulsión, el objetivo principal es proteger a la persona de una lesión. Trate de prevenir una caída dejando a la persona en el suelo en un área segura libre de muebles u otros objetos puntiagudos.
  2. Deje descansar la cabeza de la persona.
  3. Afloje la ropa apretada, especialmente alrededor del cuello.

  1. Se debe voltear a la persona de lado en caso de presentarse vómito. Esto impide que dicho vómito sea inhalado hacia los pulmones.
  2. Busque un brazalete de identificación médica con instrucciones en caso de convulsiones.
  3. Permanezca con la persona hasta que llegue la ayuda y mientras tanto vigile sus signos vitales (pulso, frecuencia respiratoria)
