Vitíligo en la cara

Este paciente presenta vitíligo en el rostro; las áreas oscuras alrededor de sus ojos corresponden al color de su piel normal. La pérdida total de la melanina (el pigmento principal de la piel) característica del vitíligo ocurre por causas desconocidas. Las lesiones resultantes son blancas en comparación con la piel circundante, típicamente planas (maculares) y despigmentadas, pero conservan la textura de la piel normal y pueden aparecer en las mismas áreas de ambos lados del rostro (simétricas) o de manera irregular (asimétricas).
