Vitíligo

El vitíligo es una condición que consiste en la pérdida total de la melanina o el pigmento fundamental de la piel. Se desconoce su causa, pero parece ser una condición adquirida que puede presentarse a cualquier edad. Las lesiones son blancas en comparación con la piel circundante. El vitíligo puede aparecer simétricamente a ambos lados de la cara o puede ser irregular. La lesión típica del vitíligo es plana y despigmentada, pero conserva la textura normal de la piel.
