Tiña del cuero cabelludo

Una infección micótica del cuero cabelludo ocasionada por un hongo similar al moho se denomina tiña de la cabeza. La tiña de la cabeza (o tiña del cuero cabelludo) es un trastorno de la piel que afecta casi exclusivamente a los niños. Puede ser persistente y muy contagiosa. Sus síntomas pueden incluir comezón, áreas del cuero cabelludo descamadas, inflamadas y desprovistas de cabello. Para tratar la infección se requiere de medicamentos antimicóticos orales.
