Succión del pulgar

La succión del pulgar es una actividad normal, con mayor incidencia alrededor de los dos años de edad. Ésta puede ser una fuente importante de placer para un bebé y, generalmente, no debe causar preocupación puesto que el niño normalmente abandona el hábito al crecer. Si la succión del pulgar continúa después de los cuatro años de edad, pueden presentarse problemas dentales como la maloclusión. La maloclusión es el contacto anormal entre los dientes de la mandíbula superior y la inferior.
