Los síntomas de un posible ataque cardíaco son, entre otros, dolor en el pecho y un dolor que se irradia al hombro y baja hacia el brazo. Algunas personas (los ancianos, las personas con la diabetes y mujeres) puede experimentar poco o ningún dolor torácico. O, pueden experimentar síntomas inusuales (dificultad para respirar, fatiga, debilidad).

Las mujeres tienen mayores probabilidades que los hombres de presentar síntomas de náuseas, vómitos, dolor de espalda o mandíbula, dificultad para respirar con dolor en el pecho.
