El término “dermatitis” describe una respuesta inflamatoria de la piel causada por contacto con alergenos o irritantes, exposición al sol o circulación deficiente y aún el estrés. Un ejemplo de la dermatitis por contacto es la reacción de la piel sensible a la hiedra venenosa, roble o zumaque. El contacto con estas plantas que contienen un químico denominado urushiol produce un sarpullido con comezón, enrojecimiento, ampollas y descamación. SE DEBE EVITAR EL RASCADO. El rascar el sarpullido puede diseminar la inflamación, provocar una infección y hasta dejar cicatrices.
