Esta persona presenta pitiriasis rubra pilaris en el pecho, una afección poco común de la piel caracterizada por la presencia de parches descamativos de color salmón, denominados queratodermia palmoplantar. Un signo característico de esta enfermedad es la obstrucción de los folículos pilosos con queratina. Esta fotografía ilustra áreas de piel no comprometida (islas de piel sana) rodeadas de áreas enrojecidas (eritrodermia).
