Extracción de una astilla

Para extraer una astilla, primero se deben lavar las manos con agua y jabón. Luego, se utilizan pinzas para tomar la astilla y halarla cuidadosamente hacia afuera en el mismo ángulo en que entró. Después de que la astilla esté afuera, se lava el área con agua y jabón, se seca dando palmaditas suaves y se aplica un ungüento antibiótico. Se debe buscar atención médica si hay infección o inflamación o si la astilla está incrustada muy profundamente.
