El diafragma es un receptáculo flexible de caucho que las mujeres llenan de espermicida e insertan sobre el cuello uterino antes del acto sexual. Dicho instrumento se deja en su sitio varias horas después del coito. El diafragma se obtiene con la prescripción y la medición de un profesional de la salud y es más caro que otros anticonceptivos de barrera como el condón.
