Dolor del ligamento colateral externo

Para el tratamiento inicial de una lesión del LCE se recomienda colocación de hielo sobre el área, elevación de la articulación por encima del nivel del corazón, medicamentos antiinflamatorios no esteroideos (AINES) y actividad física limitada hasta que el dolor y la inflamación se hayan aliviado. Se debe utilizar un inmovilizador articulable de rodilla para proteger el ligamento. El alcance de este tipo de lesión es generalmente un estiramiento excesivo del ligamento que causa dolor y sensibilidad.
