Cuidado del neonato después del parto

Inmediatamente después del parto se hace una evaluación de las condiciones del recién nacido y luego se la repite a los cinco minutos, con el fin de determinar los registros APGAR. Si hay algún grado de cianosis (piel azulada), los registros APGAR son bajos y puede entonces administrarse oxígeno. El oxígeno puede ser simplemente soplado sobre la cara del recién nacido a través de una mascarilla colocada frente a él.
