Estas son lesiones de piel causadas por el Cryptococcus, una levadura (un tipo de hongo) que raras veces causa infección, pero se considera oportunista, pues afecta a las personas con un sistema inmunológico debilitado. La infección micótica por Cryptococcus es una de las más comunes y temidas por los pacientes con SIDA.
