Causas de las protuberancias de seno

La mayoría de las protuberancias o tumores en las mamas son benignos (no cancerosos), como en el fibroadenoma, una dolencia que afecta en su mayor parte a las mujeres menores de 30 años. Los cambios fibroquísticos en las mamas ocurren en más del 60% de todas las mujeres. Los quistes en mamas fibroquísticas cambian de tamaño con el ciclo menstrual, mientras que una protuberancia por fibroadenoma no lo hace. Aunque la mayoría de las protuberancias en las mamas son benignas, es importante identificar las que no lo son. Acuda al médico si una protuberancia es nueva, persistente, dura, creciente, inmóvil o está causando deformidades en la piel.
