Cáncer de células escamosas

El cáncer de células escamosas involucra cambios cancerosos en las células de la porción central de la capa epidérmica de la piel. Es un tumor maligno y más agresivo que el cáncer de células basales, aunque puede ser de crecimiento relativamente lento. Es más probable que se disemine (haga metástasis) a otras partes del cuerpo, incluyendo los órganos internos, que el cáncer de células basales. El tratamiento generalmente involucra remoción quirúrgica del tumor, así como del tejido circundante.
