Los genes y las hormonas juegan un papel clave en determinar si uno tiene o no la piel grasosa. La alimentación probablemente tiene muy poco que ver, si así fuera, con el hecho de tener o no piel grasosa.

Lo más importante que usted puede hacer para la piel grasosa es mantenerla limpia, usando agua caliente y jabón o un limpiador sin jabón. Límpiese la cara con almohadillas astringentes si el lavado frecuente le causa irritación. Utilice sólo cosméticos a base de agua o libres de aceite en caso de tener piel grasosa.

El médico también le puede recomendar o prescribir cremas para absorber o limitar la producción de aceite en la piel.

La piel grasosa puede llevar a que se presente acné.
