Las verduras son una parte importante de una dieta bien equilibrada. Muchas personas se preguntan si las verduras congeladas o enlatadas son tan nutritivas para uno como las verduras frescas.

En general, las verduras frescas de la granja o recién recolectadas son más saludables que las congeladas o enlatadas; pero estas últimas aún pueden ser una buena opción. Es necesario empacarlas o congelarlas inmediatamente después de cosecharlas, cuando todavía tienen todos los nutrientes saludables.

Igualmente tenga en cuenta la cantidad de sal agregada a las verduras enlatadas; trate de comprar las que no contienen sal agregada. Asimismo, no cocine las verduras demasiado, ya sean frescas, enlatadas o congeladas. En lugar de hervirlas en agua por períodos prolongados, se deben cocinar ligeramente al vapor.
