    Base Station Designation

    University of Maryland Shore Regional Health announced that University of Maryland Shore Emergency Center at Queenstown, 115 Shoreway Drive, is now a designated Emergency Medical Services Base Station in the state of Maryland.

    Accreditation from the College of American Pathologists

    The College of American Pathologists (CAP) recently awarded accreditation to the laboratory at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown.  Accreditation of the lab was based upon the results of a recent on-site inspection, as part of the CAP’s Accreditation Programs.

    Comprehensive Breast Center Accreditation

    University of Maryland Shore Regional Health is pleased to announce that its Comprehensive Breast Center, under the leadership of Roberta J. Lilly, MD, MPH, FACS, has been granted a three-year, full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.

    Magnet Redesignation® for 2014-2018

    University of Maryland Shore Medical Centers at Dorchester and Easton have achieved Magnet® redesignation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).  Both UM Shore Regional Health medical centers were first awarded Magnet Recognition® status in 2009.

    Shore Regional Cancer Center Granted National Accreditation

    The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons has once again granted three-year accreditation with commendation to the Shore Regional Cancer Center’s programs.  Accreditation review takes place every three years.

    Top Honors Awarded to the Primary Stroke Center

    The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association announced that the Primary Stroke Center at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton achieved both the Gold Plus Achievement Award and Target: Stroke Honor Roll for the “Get With The Guidelines” stroke program for 2013. This achievement brings national recognition to the Primary Stroke Center for improving patient care and outcomes for stroke patients.
