Grand Prix Race Tickets
Employees who want to buy tickets for the race can get a ten percent discount by entering promotion code “UMMC” when ordered through Ticketmaster or at the ticket window.
The September MTA passes will be available on August 23 in the Parking and Transportation Office in room G1J42 two doors down from the HR Service Center and the Great Cookie. The deadline or setup or cancel for an October MTA pass is September 18 at noon. For more information on MTA, please refer to their website.
Camden Yard Parking Updates
There are Oriole evening games scheduled for September 5 and 6, 9-12 beginning at 7:05 pm. All vehicles must be removed no later that 5:30 pm. For more information on restrictions during baseball season, please refer to the Parking page on the UMMC Intranet or email email@example.com. If you are interested in switching to alternate parking facility, please stop by the Parking and Transportation office in room G1J42 to find out what is available.
Give the Gift of Life
The University of Maryland Medical Center will host a Red Cross blood drive on September 24 and 25, from 8 am to 8 pm on the first floor of Gudelsky near the information desk. All donors will receive a $5 gift card good at any medical center restaurant as our thanks for donating. Please schedule your donation at www.umm.edu/blood or just stop by.
University Farmers Market
The University Farmers Market takes place in Plaza Park, across the street from the hospital’s main entrance, along Paca Street. Local farmers will be selling fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, soups, sauces and much more. The market will be open every Tuesday from 10 am until 2:30 pm and will run weekly from May through November. The University Farmers Market is proud to announce that this year, in addition to WIC/FVC and FMNP (Farmers Market Nutrition Program) benefits, they will now accept SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program) benefits, formerly known as Food Stamps.
Weight Watchers at Work
As part of the Step Up To Good Health Wellness Program, UMMC continues to offer Weight Watchers at Work. Engage in fun activities; learn about the proven Weight Watchers approach, the new monthly pass and how you can attend At Work meetings.
The program is available by purchasing a monthly pass for $39.95 per month. The monthly pass system allows members to attend meetings at work at UMMC or near their home. You do not need to wait for a session to begin; you can join at any time. All Weight Watchers at Work meetings are scheduled in the lower level of the Paca Pratt building at 110 South Paca Street from 1 - 1:30 pm on Wednesdays. Weigh in begins at 12:45 pm prior to the meeting.

UMMC Healing Arts Exhibit for Employees & Families
UMMC’s newest C2X Team, The Healing Arts Team, has partnered with the National Arts Program® to host our first employee art exhibition and awards reception at UMMC on October 9. All UMMC employees, physicians, and their immediately family members are invited to exhibit their artwork and compete for cash prizes sponsored by the National Arts Program® in the following categories: Amateur Adult, Intermediate Adult, Professional Adult, Youth 12 & Under and Teen 13-18. There is no entry fee, but all entries must be the original work of the applicant, completed within the last three years. Registration is now open until August 23.
