La nueva guía de los grupos básicos de alimentos del Departamento de Agricultura de los Estados Unidos (U.S. Department of Agriculture), llamada Mi plato (MyPlate), invita a los consumidores a hacer elecciones de alimentos más saludables. En la nueva guía de los grupos básicos de alimentos, a usted se le pide comer menos y evitar las porciones de gran tamaño. La mitad de su plato debe estar lleno de frutas y verduras y al menos la mitad de los granos deben ser granos integrales. Usted también debe cambiarse a la leche desnatada o baja en grasa.

  • Frutas
  • Productos lácteos
  • Proteínas

Usted debe consumir alimentos de cada grupo todos los días, pero la cantidad que debe comer de cada grupo depende de su edad, sexo y de cuán activo sea.
