Desarrollo del oído en el feto

Los oídos comienzan a desarrollarse durante la quinta semana del embarazo. La formación del oído comienza con pequeñas protuberancias llamadas arcos branquiales. Algunas porciones de los arcos branquiales se convierten en estructuras llamadas montículos auriculares. Los montículos auriculares crecen y se juntan para formar el oído externo.

Durante el quinto mes, las partes interna y media del oído se desarrollan, pero no estarán completamente terminadas hasta el nacimiento.
